About Me

CLINICAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

In my practice, I strive to strike a thoughtful balance between empathy and challenge—providing a supportive space where clients feel deeply understood, while also fostering the kind of growth that leads to lasting change.

I’m a licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience working with children, parents, and families. I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Georgia in 2013, following the completion of my clinical internship at Harvard Medical School/Cambridge Health Alliance. I remained at Harvard for my postdoctoral fellowship, receiving advanced training in family systems, pediatric psychology, and the interface of mental health and legal systems.

During my time in Boston, I worked across several Harvard-affiliated hospitals, including Boston Children’s Hospital and Cambridge Hospital. I also completed Expert Witness Testimony Training through Harvard Law School, which deepened my expertise in the legal and ethical dimensions of family psychology.

I later served as a staff psychologist at Boston Children’s Hospital, before relocating to Atlanta to enter private practice. In Atlanta, I specialize in two core areas:

  1. High-Conflict Divorce, Coparenting & Family Systems Work
I take a strength-based, trauma-informed approach to help families heal and restructure after separation. I have advanced training in Child Custody Evaluation, Parent Coordination, and Coparenting Therapy through William James College. I regularly speak to attorneys, Guardians ad Litem, and family court professionals on key issues at the intersection of psychology and law, including resist-refuse dynamics, child development in divorce, and healthy coparenting.

  2. Pediatric Psychology & Neurodevelopmental Evaluation
I have a deep interest in assessing and supporting children with complex cognitive and emotional profiles, including Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, learning differences, mood and anxiety concerns, and attachment-related challenges. My work integrates psychological science with compassionate, family-centered care.

In addition to clinical practice, I serve as the Education Chair on the Georgia Psychological Association's Ethics Committee, where I lead conversations on ethical dilemmas in clinical work. I’ve presented locally on the role of shame in ethics and ethical decision making, and nationally on topics related to autism diagnosis and treatment.

Whether I’m working with a child, a family navigating divorce, or a parent in need of guidance—I bring clinical depth, curiosity, and a deep respect for the resilience of the human experience.

TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY

I take a strength-based approach to psychotherapy, in keeping with my identity as a counseling psychologist. I also bring a developmental perspective to treatment, focusing on the strengths and adaptive strategies of my patients across the life span. I place a great deal of emphasis on the importance of early attachments and the impact of intimate relationships on my patients struggles throughout all aspects of their lives. I believe that a warm, trusting therapeutic relationship in which my patients feel truly heard and understood forms the foundation of any successful treatment.
